He explained that he used to hang out with 2 brothers, one of which had some mental issues, perhaps autism or something similar, that acted strange at times, and that seemed to have skills with radios and other tech. He said he wasn't 100% sure, but that there were strong reasons to believe so. Long ago I read a (4chan I think?) post from someone claiming that it was very possible he knew the people who did this hack. Although Doonesbury characters rarely disappear, as of May 18, 2019, Ron Headrest hasn't been seen since November 6, 1994. The real Ronald Reagan had retired and left the public view, and Max Headroom's program was long gone, making the character far less topical than he had once been. He only appeared a few times during the Clinton administration, and then disappeared entirely. >Ron appeared regularly throughout the Reagan and Bush presidencies and then began to show up less frequently. Headrest also seeks the 1988 Republican Party presidential nomination in his own right, but withdraws from the race, promising to go into reruns instead. He takes particular delight in tormenting Mike Doonesbury, whom he calls "Y-Person" (meaning yuppie). But like his televised counterpart, Ron escapes into the airwaves and begins causing trouble wherever he can find a television and someone to listen to him. >In the continuity of the comic strip the White House staff is less creative, and simply try to turn Headrest off. Eventually they got revenge by giving callers the number of Trudeau’s editor.) During the first week of his appearance he flashes the White House's phone number on his screen and tells children to call if they wanted "rock-solid information on safe sex." (Because the number printed was accurate, the real world White House got calls which jammed their switchboards. >It ends up being a disaster: Headrest is stuttering and incompetent, and openly mocks the administration he is designed to serve, and causes nothing but trouble. Because he was electronic, he would have no memory troubles, and his sense of humor and attitude were designed to appeal to young voters. He appeared as a stylized version of Reagan’s head and shoulders on a television screen, complete with sunglasses. >The idea was that Ron had been created to serve as a backup president during the long periods Reagan spent on vacation. (The name "Headrest" was a humorous allusion to the frequent and lengthy naps that Reagan was notorious for.) He combined the concept with then-president Ronald Reagan, to produce Ron Headrest, the world's first electronically simulated politician. >During the 1980s, Garry Trudeau thought it would be fun to do a political parody of the television program Max Headroom (of which he was a fan). >Ron Headrest is a fictional character in the comic strip Doonesbury. He never made the cover of The Rolling Stone, but he did make the cover of Mad Magazine and Newsweek:Īnd who can forget him reciting the alphabet on Sesame Street, and blonde cleft-chinned Link Hogthrob as Max Hogroom in Muppet Magazine:Īnd honestly, who hasn't gotten stoned and binged out on a whole box of delicious Max Headroom candy from Topps:Īnd of course his digital visage also appeared in Doonsbury as Ron Headrest, a parody of Ronald Reagan: The Screen Savers interviewed him on Tech TV in 2002: He appeared as guest on David Letterman frequently: Matt Frewer, the guy who played Max Headroom, also played Carnage in Altered Carbon:Īnd a really obnoxious time traveler in Star Trek: TNG: Max Headroom also hooked up with The Art of Noise, to perform Paranoimia! If the most powerful computer would take hundreds of years to With pseudorandom generators, the security increases as the So, for eight hours weĪssume it's practically safe. We know that anybody can simply try all possible combinations, until they find a match and it opens. This leads to an important distinction in computer science,īetween what is possible, versus what is possible inĪ reasonable amount of time. To be indistinguishable from a randomly generated sequence, it must be impractical for a computer to try all seeds and look for a match. To pseudorandom shifts, we shrink the key space into a much, much smaller seed-space. To a uniform selection from 10,000 possible initial seeds, meaning she can only generate 10,000 different sequences, which is a vanishingly small fraction of all possible sequences. Compare this to Alice generating a 20 digit pseudorandom sequence, using a four-digit random seed. Would not see the light for around 200,000,000 years. If we stood at the bottomĪnd shined a light upwards, a person at the top To the power of 20 pages, which is astronomical in size. To a uniform selection from the stack of all For example, if Alice generatesĪ truly random sequence of 20 shifts, it's equivalent When you generate numbers pseudorandomly, there are many sequences Though if we use a seed large enough, the sequence can expand into trillions and trillions A three-digit seed can'tĮxpand past 1,000 numbers before repeating its cycle, and a four-digit seed can't expand past 10,000 numbers before repeating. For example, if we use a two-digit seed, then an algorithm can produce, at most, 100 numbers, before reusing a seed and repeating the cycle. The period is strictly limited by the length of the initial seed. Pseudorandom sequence repeats, is called "the period". This occurs when theĪlgorithm reaches a seed it has previously used,Īnd the cycle repeats. So, what are the differences between a randomly generated versus pseudorandomly generated sequence? Let's represent each Sequence is dependent on the randomness of the initial seed only. This is known as the middle-squares method and is just the first in a long line of pseudorandom number generators. Then you use this output as the next seed, and repeat the processĪs many times as needed. Multiply the seed by itself, and then output the middle of this result. Next, this seed is provided as input to a simple calculation. The measurement of noise, or the current time in milliseconds. The scrambling aspect of randomness as follows: First, select a truly random So, Neumann developed an algorithm to mechanically simulate Limited internal memory storing long random However, this required quick access to randomly generated numbers that could be repeated, if needed. Using a computer called the ENIAC, he planned to repeatedlyĬalculate approximations of the processes involved In 1946, John von Neumann was involved in running computations for the military specifically involved in theĭesign of the hydrogen bomb. To be nondeterministic, since they are impossible At each point in the sequence the next move is always unpredictable. Notice the lack of pattern at all scales. We can visualize this random sequence by drawing a path that changes direction according to each number, Of TV static over time, we will generate a truly random sequence. One, two, three, four- For example, if we measure the electric current Noise, known as sampling, we can obtain numbers. We can generate truly random numbers by measuring randomįluctuations, known as noise. Observe the physical world we find random fluctuations everywhere. So, you could generate a truly random encryption key from TV static, but it would have to be shared ahead of time. In public key encryption with the use of pseudorandom numbers, the relatively short seed can be securely shared (see the video on public key encryption) and then used to generate the exact same very long encryption key on both sides of the secure conversation. This is why methods like public key encryption are used. Also, you cannot simply send it as is or the eavesdropper with see both the encrypted data and the encryption key and be able to decrypt the data. If you generate a truly random series of numbers to use as the encryption key, then you need to send the entire series to you recipient. The difficulty is if you need to encrypt some data and send it to someone else in a way that will put it at risk of eavesdropping. You need a long series to avoid repetition which makes the encryption easier to break. The main reason for generating a long series of random or pseudorandom numbers is to encrypt data. However, as stahl.ej already mentioned, it would not be very practical. Regular rhythm, with less than 0.16-second variation in the shortest and longest durations between successive P waves.Normal heart rate (classically 60 to 100 beats per minute for an adult).Characteristics of normal sinus rhythm īy convention, the term "normal sinus rhythm" is taken to imply that not only are the P waves (reflecting activity of the sinus node itself) normal in morphology but that all other ECG measurements are also normal. Exceptions to this include complete heart block and certain ventricular artificial pacemaker rhythms, where the P waves may be completely normal in shape, but ventricular depolarization bears no relation to them in these cases, the speed of the "sinus rhythm of the atria" and the speed of the ventricular rhythm must be calculated separately. In general, each P wave in a sinus rhythm is followed by a QRS complex, and the sinus rhythm therefore gives rise to the whole heart's depolarization. If the P waves do not meet these criteria, they must be originating from an abnormal site elsewhere in the atria and not from the sinus node the ECG cannot, therefore, be classed as showing a sinus rhythm. positive in all chest leads, except for V1 which may be biphasic (+/-).any of biphasic (-/+), positive or negative in lead aVL.always positive in lead I, lead II, and aVF.In humans, for an ECG to be described as showing a sinus rhythm, the shape of the P wave in each of the 12 standard ECG leads should be consistent with a "typical P vector" of +50° to +80°. Sinus rhythms may be present together with various other cardiac arrhythmias on the same ECG. Other types of sinus rhythm that can be normal include sinus tachycardia, sinus bradycardia, and sinus arrhythmia. Example of a sinus rhythm with bifascicular block The term normal sinus rhythm ( NSR) is sometimes used to denote a specific type of sinus rhythm where all other measurements on the ECG also fall within designated normal limits, giving rise to the characteristic appearance of the ECG when the electrical conduction system of the heart is functioning normally however, other sinus rhythms can be entirely normal in particular patient groups and clinical contexts, so the term is sometimes considered a misnomer and its use is sometimes discouraged. On the electrocardiogram (ECG), a sinus rhythm is characterised by the presence of P waves that are normal in morphology. It is necessary, but not sufficient, for normal electrical activity within the heart. Any cardiac rhythm where depolarisation of the cardiac muscle begins at the sinus node Schematic representation of normal sinus rhythm showing standard wave, segments, and intervalsĪ sinus rhythm is any cardiac rhythm in which depolarisation of the cardiac muscle begins at the sinus node. With this app, you can import documents, create a study workspace from them (called MindMap Notebooks), and then consolidate the notes created in your study workspace into a review.įor starters, there isn’t an easy way to view all of your files in one place. While we’ll cover each workspace in greater detail below, these three sections illustrate the app’s intended workflow for your documents. Toasts followed dinner which are always some of my favorite moments. ( Click here to see another wedding with tacos!) Soooo delicious, for real. Taco Chihuahua served super fresh, entirely authentic Mexican tacos for a true SoCal twist on wedding catering, which I LOVED. The couple made their grand entrance and toasted the guests + people that made this gorgeous day possible. Guests sipped cocktails and horchata from Taco Chihuahua. The large wooden tables were crafted by Breanna’s dad and they looked incredible! Eric’s mom did the florals for each table and I think they added such a beautiful pop of color to the reception! Bistro lights hung above the dancefloor. Guests went to the outdoor Houdini Estate reception lawn, down a brick ramp inlaid with black handcuffs (in classic Houdini style). Friends and family had traveled thousands of miles to celebrate, so they wanted to spend every possible moment with them! We squeezed in a few moments of portraits at the end of cocktail hour. I love playing around with veil shots - check out this wedding for more bridal veil inspo! By doing as many photos beforehand as possible, they were able to enjoy cocktail hour. Spending lots of time with guests was a high priority for Bre + Eric. The last line of Breanna’s vows really got me, quoting Ben Harper’s song “Forever” “cause not a day less will do.” Her brother officiated, which incorporated some traditional elements but was largely made up of custom vows by the bride and groom. The wedding party made its way down the aisle to a solo violinist before Bre + her dad, but at the last moment Bre’s Hayley Paige veil flew off! Luckily, this badass bride wasn’t the least bit rattled by this and continued on. The wedding ceremony at the Houdini Estate was held on the mansion’s beautifully designed mosaic driveway. Eric wore a suit from The Rack.Īfter their first look, we took a few portraits around the estate and then took wedding party and family photos before the ceremony began. Meanwhile, Bre’s mom helped her zip her dress downstairs! Once Eric was in position, I guided Bre to the spot and captured the magic as it unfolded. Bre wore a dress and veil by Hayley Paige and shoes from Betsey Johnson. The groomsmen took a quick dip in the pool beforehand - the same pool Houdini himself practiced his infamous underwater tricks! A crazy, totally Houdini-feeling moment was when Eric decided he needed a knife to elongate a button hole on his shirt… without taking it off - there was a little tension in the room as the groom had a kitchen knife pointed towards his abdomen just moments before the first look. Bre + Eric both got ready at the estate - Eric and the groomsmen upstairs in Houdini’s living room, and Bre and the bridesmaids downstairs. 1926-1930 Route 66 into SpringfieldĬoming from Strafford, towards Springfield the first alignment of Route 66 followed the alignment shown in this 1926-30 US 66 map.
